Indiana Road Trip
Whilst in Chicago i rented a car and took a trip to Terre Haute, Indiana to see one of my old friends from when I was an exchange student. The drive was sooooo dull. I got one of thos nifty little GPS in car navigation units which worked a treat for the trip down there. It was a really quick trip. I drove 7 hours through snow to get there, got there at 3am, then was back on the road at 3pm heading back to Chicago...this is where my nifty little navigation system failed me...or should I say thrifty rental cars. They failed to give me the charger and the bag of 'stuff' that was supposed to go with the unit. So as I arrived just in time for chicago peak hour traffic, my GPS died. i had no idea how to get to where i was supposed to go and subsequently spent $20 going back and forth through toll booths trying to extract directions out of the nasty toll booth attendents. After 2 more hours then it should have taken- I managed to get the car returned where they then tried to blame me for not having the charger. I let them know what I thought!!! Despite the long, long trip (below is a pic of the road I drove 7 hours on at a maximum speed of 80km!). It was definately worth while and it was great to catch up with Lacey after so many years!
